Dealing With The Bank

I talked to someone who had a bad conversation with the bank about her defaulting loan.  For the most part, I have heard the banks are nice and helpful.  They understand the market has changed and don’t beat up the customers but will still tell the what will happen.

This person got ahold of an old school bank representative.  The conversation degraded into this.

“Paying your loan is more important than keeping the money for food.  Your child can eat bread.”

I am told that rep knew that the child was a baby.  The rep ragged on her telling her what a bad person she was for not paying her bills even though the rep was told about the circumstances that were way beyond her control.

So far this is a rare event.  After the horrific phone call she called back and talked to a different department.   This time it was much better and followed with what I had been hearing the demeanor of the banks to be.

If you get someone like that it may be better to hang up and call right back in hopes of getting someone else which is going to happen 99% of the time.
