In my opinion there is very little sales in real estate. There is marketing to be sure, but this is really a service industry disguised and sometimes abused as a sales industry.
Sales is about convincing someone of a need for something whether they want/need it or not.
Negotiations is where both parties start with a goal/need/want in mind and and work towards coming to agreeable terms
For the people that treat this like a sales game, I think they are doing most everyone a disservice. Homes aren’t TV’s. You shouldn’t be trying to talk someone into a house. You can help them get past a fear like a good adviser would but you shouldn’t be talking them into something.
That’s the way I treat it, train it and coach it.
