“In like a Lion, out like a lamb.” Lisa from Transnation Title was kind enough to fit My Client’s schedule and we signed this morning at 6:30 so My Client could be to work at 7:30. Because of another blunder by Ms. Bank we missed closing or even signing yesterday which caused fits of frustration for most involved as we set time aside to take care of this.
But there we were at 6:30am ready to sign and one paper was missing because the title company’s system was down. Lisa typed up the paper herself. Who knew typewriters were still around? We signed, parted ways and waited.
A call came in that the bank had reviewed everything and we were to close around 10:30. Relief. Then I just got the call that they have recorded. Ultimate relief and relaxation. It was quiet and almost poetic, no big celebration just sighs of relief. I left a message for the husband and a few text messages with the wife where we thanked each other for the hard work.
I think in our case March went out like a Lion and April came in like a lamb. No more Ms. Bank. No more statements saying, “One more thing.” This is by far the hardest deal based on the loan officer I have had to deal with in years. But that is over and it amazing that I am smiling and laughing more today. I forget how these deals affect me and few realize that I take the ups and downs personal.

Mike,
I have been following this soap opera, partly because something similar happened to me 18 months ago.
My hope for you is that your client will not lump you into the same class as their loan officer. That’s what I feel happened to me even though I was the only one who was willing to keep things updated and communication open.
In the end, the whole wrenching experience for my clients was a commingling of agent+lender+escrow ineptitude, when the reality was their lender could not keep things on track.
Congratulations, I’m glad it’s over.
Thanks Ron.
No, they didn’t lump me into the same class as Ms. Bank, thank goodness, though I know that can be the case.
I actually missed the meetup last Friday because I was in my office receiving new loan docs so my client didn’t have to meet up with Ms. Bank. Maybe I will see you at the next one.
Mike –
I have been watching your story play out also. I’m so glad you made it to the end with great results. Congrats! I hope your clients realize how hard you worked for them.
