I strongly suggest before you join this crazy field of real estate to talk to a few agents. Try to find a few to shadow. This isn’t HGTV.
You’ll read this a lot on this site; the average career length of a real estate agent is 8 months. When you consider how many 20+ year agents there are, it’s kind of scary and sobering.
This takes a lot of effort and some luck.
You can contact me, talk to your past Realtor, go to Open Houses, ask friends for the names of Realtors, and the list goes on and on. Don’t just go off your personal experiences or the Instagram posts of “successful agents.”
This is a lifestyle, not a job. And the truth is nothing prepares you for this job fully, no matter how much I try to scare people away.
