The Crisis Of Credit Visualized And Local Activity

I am not the first to in Portland to post this but in case you haven’t seen it, here it is.  I would have posted it earlier but I have been fortunate to have been to busy..

I have told many that it seems activity has increased dramatically in the last 3 weeks or so.  While doing a CMA for an listing appointment I decided to see how many homes went Pending recently in the Portland area, Forest Grove to Gresham to Oregon City to Sherwood.  Here is what I found,

Between 1/1/09 – 2/14/2009,  963 homes went Pending.

Between 2/15/09 through 3/2/09, 618 homes went Pending.

That is a substantial jump in activity.  I don’t know how many of those homes actually have or will complete the sale but it is nice to see a 66% jump in activity in just 33% of the time.

In my own real estate world, I have four new listings in the last week and half, two new buyers, and four offers on three of my properties.
