Map Search of The RMLS
Serious buyers have an agent using the RMLS to email them the newest listings on a daily basis. Then they check about four different sites making sure nothing is missed. I think many enjoy the hunt of it all.
Even when I was at the larger companies, where directional signs were “free,” I experimented with using generic directional signs. The idea was that if someone thought it was an unknown home they might be more likely to follow it, especially in 2005 and 2006. I never proved if it worked like that but I have modified the idea where I make price stickers that I put on the directional.
If a home was in your price range wouldn’t you be more likely to follow the directional sign? When you first start the search you may have turned down every street with a directional. Slowly you got frustrated with the directional leading nowhere or the home was outside of your price range.
With the map based home search you can see every home in a price range in any area. Unfortunately out MLS system does not permit address in any search of information provided by the MLS but with a mapped search, you can get a pretty good idea.
