Imagine my surprise when I walked in to my client’s Tigard house, with all rugs gone, and saw this.
I had forgotten that some of the Brazilian Cherry wood, and I am sure others, changes with light. As my client talked about it I remembered that a client from a couple of years ago was furious when the installed floors didn’t match the color she told them that she wanted. They explained that the light will bring out the color, which it did.
What I didn’t realize was that lack of light will draw back the color. The Buyer was shocked during the pre-close walk through but the Seller told them that when they bought it there were round circles from previous rugs. He said it took about a month and they were back to even.
The floors in the living room where there is a large bank of windows seemed a bit darker which you might be able to make out from the pictures. The sun light was a little stronger than light bulbs but it brought out the true potential of the wood. The Buyer’s verified with a floor specialist that this indeed does happen and all was well.
