When I was a kid I would try to find a way to make boring tasks interesting easier. One time I took the weed whacker and tried to were the garden. It was called a weed whacker! Why shouldn’t I try it?
I ended up taking the tops of half of the onions and that was the end of that.
Agents do this all of the time. Instead of following a “boring” checklist or “boring” task list, they want to “spice” it up. But they aren’t effective. This is why I always ask people, “What’s the goal?”
The goal should have to get results. Stop trying to make the mundane exciting, just do it and move on. Or hire it out.
There’s also a piece of it where you get bored with a game because it’s too easy. This is how we get distracted with shiny objects. We love variety but it’s often a trap.
