Google Android Phone

This is a picture from the 3 megapixel phone.  I won’t be taking any photos of homes with it.

Since this is non-real estate skip past or click here to read more. And this will be a stream of consciousness post.

One of the free applications lets the GPS tell your phone not to let it ring when you are in a specific location if you want.

CompareEverywhere lets you scan barcodes and then looks on the internet for prices.

So far the best part of the Apps area is user feedback.  With one app the user “wished I could have gave it no stars.”  I won’t be getting that one.

I am liking it more as I figure out the functions.  It didn’t automatically read my SIM card so I called T Mobile and taught the G1 phone rep how to do it after I kept poking around.  The “long tap” is the hidden function that the manual doesn’t talk about.  They have one reference to it but it doesn’t say to try it in other places.  Luckily I like to try things out and I will be fine but I think many will be frustrated for a while.  Sad manual the more I think about it.

The internet speed is significant.  Many times faster than my Sidekick which was the promise.  I should eventually get used to the keyboard.  I didn’t like the Sidekick 3 keyboard at first after my Sidekick 2 died so I expect the same kind of adapting here too.

Playing on it for about an hour and half and I am down to 45%.  I keep talking on it and will probably get frustrated that I can’t use the headset and charge at the same time.

I can open multiple browser windows at once and so it flawlessly follows the command to open a new window by links.  It doesn’t seem like I will be able to blog (or at least upload pics on the blog) with it yet but I can see some changes or an application helping that issue.

More to write but that is enough for a real estate blog 🙂
