This one encompasses a few of the traps but I want to point it out by itself.
When the ego gets involved, people are more likely to make mistakes and hide the mistakes because their focus is on themselves, not the client. They are more likely to inflate their importance and their success which requires a lot of covering up of inadequacies.
They get into battles and screaming matches to prove how great them are. The ego unchecked becomes the narcissist who can do no wrong. Everything is everyone else’s fault.
And the more they are polishing the turd to make it look good, the worse it smells. Eventually you get a reputation and people don’t want to work with you.
Stay humble. Be the eternal learner. Don’t let your ego ruin your career.
Watch the move Revolver to get a good handle on ego and what a crazy thing it is. If you don’t have time for that, watch this end credit scene with a bunch of people talking about ego.
