Trailblazers and Brandon Roy

by Mike on December 20, 2007

So this isn’t about real estate but it is about Portland, Oregon.  First of all please vote for Brandon Roy for the All Star Game.

Brandon Roy has gone from one of the worst struggling starters to twice consecutively crowned player of week in the western conference.  He struggled and then they let him play the way that works for him and have since rattle off 9 wins in a row.

The Trailblazers were left for dead after we heard news of Oden’s injury.  Talk of next year and all of that.  I, in my naivete, believed the Blazers could have a much better record than they ended up with.  They were close in many games.  Even after Oden went down I thought they could do well.

Apparently what was missing was confidence.  They have that now and the town is excited again.  What I think is the best part of this is that they have done this without Oden.  They have created the chemistry and confidence. Imagine what it will be like when Oden does return?

If Oden had been hurt now, would they be the same team?  Would their psyche be the same?  I doubt it.  The losses may have built their resolve and made them stronger.  The confidence they got because Oden was going to play must have been sitting their on the edge of their minds as they played games.

I think they will be a much better team for going through this now than if Oden had been hurt mid-season.  It might have ended up more like the Ducks season when they lost Dixon.  The defense should have stayed about the same but they weren’t.

Vote for Brandon because he is good.  If that isn’t enough, vote for him because the era of the Jail Blazers is completely and officially over.  Thank the Blazers for pulling us out of the sports joke cellar.

To make the obligatory real estate remark, you should always change the locks. You don’t know what people have keys to the old locks.

11 wins in a row for the Blazer’s. I hope they continue to have success. Roy looks great. He blew past Durant for some nice looks at the basket.

I agree. New home owners should always change the locks.
