I’m Having Trouble Getting Agents To Call Me Back, This Is My Rant

UPDATE:  It’s 2019 and I completely forgot about this and sadly, many agents are just as bad about returning calls.

I finally found a way to vent my frustration about the lack of response from agents when I was trying to show their listings. It was tough to go back to my client over and over and say, “I’m sorry, they just won’t call back.”

I did some minor venting on Twitter and had a few agents mention that they had the same problems in their part of the country. Phew! It wasn’t my choice of deodorant or breath mints that kept agents from calling me back; it seemed to be an epidemic.

So I had some comedic inspiration that enabled me to vent. Hence the video above which I put out this morning and promptly got many responses about just how often agents across the country run into this.

You may ask why this happens when real estate is such a tough field right now. I can only guess but I don’t think it has anything to do part-time agents. I know quite a few part time Realtors who do a great job. They have to balance their time and it creates focus. I think it’s the agents who don’t have much to do and keep putting things off and just forgetting. Either way it is happening more than ever.

And this isn’t to say I don’t make mistakes. I tell my clients if that for some reason I haven’t returned a message within three hours to contact me again because something happened. I won’t bother me at all. Emails get lost, voicemail systems get stuck, and more happens. But after so much lack of response by so many people I decided to channel my inner news reporter.
