I am here to rant, indulge me a bit if you hate stupid drivers.
See the friendly little triangle of green at the top? See the arrows showing the flow of traffic? Can you see the two cars facing Bethany just below the yellow line? Also notice that Bethany has two lanes running south. Okay.
It seems anyone coming from Bronson to Bethany feels compelled, like sheep, to follow the red arrows and then jump across into the inside lane so they can get on to HWY 26 West.
They hold up traffic, cause accidents, and create typical mayhem during rush hour because they can’t be bothered to make a 90 degree turn off of Bronson. That’s just crazy talk.
Because there is a on ramp-style curve, they think they have to take it and fight their way over while glaring at drivers who don’t let them over. How is it that I have never seen anyone make a right the corner? It is safer and easier. Come on, think people.
This falls into most of my rants about bad drivers, they don’t think.
- They merge onto freeways like gliding into a kitchen at 1AM, shocked that anyone might be nearby.
- They wait until the last second to cross three lanes because they weren’t paying attention to which exit is theirs.
I drove in Mexico City (without a clutch but that is a longer story) and have crossed Mexico from Acapulco to Cancun. In all of the time I visited there and drove, I saw one accident. Down there the street signs and lights are just suggestions, it’s like a version of Poker with harsher consequences. “Is he going to go or should I?”
No driver in Mexico is 100% sure others will follow the rules so it is truly defensive driving. Their freeway on ramps are sometimes 20 feet long. You don’t get a quarter of mile to have people watch out for you. You have no choice but to pay attention.
I tried to come up with a far-fetched link to real estate but I can’t find it. That intersection has just been bothering me for months and last week a friend told me his brother was in a bad accident because of someone doing a forced merge. Pay attention drivers!
